Based on wood modification Foreco introduced NobelWood®, an award-winning alternative for tropical hardwood. It offers durable and sustainable production methods and products. The Dutch institute for building and ecology (NIBE) performed an indicative assessment to determine the environmental impact of NobelWood®. They concluded that usage of bio-polymerized wood has less impact on the environment than comparable building solutions and awarded Foreco with their trademark DUBOkeur® (www.dubokeur.nl).

Fast growing softwood sourced in sustainably managed forest areas, based on the FSC certification program, is treated with new modification techniques. It offers high quality wood products that can be used for cladding and other exterior applications. Products are available in a range of standard sizes and profiles. These can be supplied either machined to specified dimensions and patterns or as solid sections that can be machined, as required.

NobelWood FRX combines wood modification with biopolymers and a weather resistant fire retardant treatment. NobelWood offers an alternative to tropical hardwood based on fast growing pine wood and a biobased resin, which is produced from agricultural crop waste (bagasse). The material is compatible with a weather resistant fire-retardant treatment. This results in a new Fire Retardant Exterior (FRX) product that allows maintenance free application of wood products for constructions that need to comply with high level fire safety regulations.
