Art of the Loom is a unique collection of exclusive carpets designed by outstanding international contemporary artists and manufactured in Belgium.By creating Art of the Loom Mark Deweer, a Flemish carpet manufacturer and founder of DEWEER gallery, merged the two passions that defined his life: art and carpets. He invited 14 reputed artists from Belgium and abroad to design one or more carpets and received proposals he’d never dreamt of. All of them pushed him to go beyond the limits of the traditional manufacturing process.
The result is a stunning collection of 32 exclusive tapestries that challenge our views on the crossings between contemporary art and design. Manufactured according to the highest technical standards the tapestries are woven in a very limited number.
