The gutiérrez-delafuente arquitectos office was founded in 2006 in Madrid by
Natalia Gutiérrez Sánchez (Madrid, 1980) and Julio de la Fuente Martínez (Madrid, 1980).
The founders are graduate architects of Escuela Técnica Superior de
Arquitectura de Madrid (ETSAM) and have continued their training in Madrid
and Ateliers Jean Nouvel office in Paris.
Natalia Gutiérrez is currently a Member of the Ethics Committee of COAM.
They have won prizes in numerous national and international competitions,
including two in Europan 09, Europan 10, Europan 11, IQ Wohnquartiere
and the Multipurpose Centre Valle de Salazar.
They have been published in numerous magazines, exhibited in Spain,
Germany and Austria as well as having several models exhibited in The
Architectural Gallery of the magazine El Croquis.
Gutiérrez-delafuente focuses its research activity in contemporary urban
mutation processes such as the reconversion of abandoned brownfields
and industrial areas, or the phenomenon of shrinking cities.
At present they are building several singular projects in Spain and
Germany, and also working in Austria.
