Hall Black Douglas Architects
Team:
Hall Black Douglas came about in 1986 when Rodney, Mervyn and Stephen formed the partnership.
Rodney and Stephen have now been joined by Alistair and David as the four Directors of Hall Black Douglas Ltd. Mervyn continues to work part time in the practice with a roving remit in design review. John as an associate and the senior staff work in informal groups responding to the demands of varying projects, creating small teams within the office.
The staff are encouraged to be involved in the wider profession, and in the teaching and tutoring of students. Continuing Professional Development is encouraged with a regular in-house programme of seminars and visiting presentations, and involvement in outside courses and conferences.
Ethos:
Hall Black Douglas Architects believes that good design is important in the life of everyone. We work hard to optimise the quality of every project, whether large or small; working each time from first principles.
We place a high value on the development of personal relationships with our clients, positive teamwork within our own office and in the wider design team, the rigorous development of the project brief, and attention to detail.
Over the last twenty years Hall Black Douglas has successfully completed hundreds of projects ranging from small domestic extensions to large public and civic buildings. The practice regularly competes in design competitions and has won many awards from both professional bodies and amenity societies.
Collaborating with other architects who have particular experience or expertise is becoming a regular feature of our work bringing new challenges and new building types.
We set quality at the top of our agenda and welcome clients who are looking for a bespoke service.
