INCARTAMENTI

IncartaMenti was born when the architect and designer Giacomo Fava met the artisans of Artincarta, Cartablues and Inkarta, a non-profit cooperative which aims at offering equal job opportunities to disabled people. The golden thread that links them all is the interest and love for paper, the material which made the name of their town, Fabriano, famous all around the world. In the Incartamenti project, paper is not only considered as the material used to bring to life original creations, but it is mainly the source of inspiration and the protagonist of the whole artistic process. The Incartamenti laboratory is the place where handmade objects halfway between sculptures, toys and design items see the light. They are all made using materials strictly linked to paper. In order to achieve the most original results, the Incartamenti team uses techniques handed down from the old generations and machineries whose origins go back to the end of the 17th century.
