Ipostudio is a working group that was set up in Florence in 1984. It operates in the sector of architectural design and has developed a range of projects in the areas of civil architecture, the social, health and school sectors as well as special housing and social housing.
The activity of the studio is based on a vast experience in the sphere of the design of public and private works.
This has included participation and selection in international competitions, architectural and urban design and research in the sector of innovation in the design and construction process. It has also acquired extensive competence in the development of urban renovation and regeneration projects, landscape and environmental redevelopment and the reutilisation of monumental and listed building complexes.
In the area of research, since 1991 Ipostudio has been a partner in research projects funded by the European Community developed in the sector of technological innovation and building design.
The projects developed by Ipostudio have received awards in several design contests at national and international level. They have on several occasions been published in Italy and abroad and displayed at exhibitions, including the Venice Biennale and the Triennale of Milan.
They have also been accorded special mentions at national and international level, including the Italian Gold Medal for Architecture, receiving an honourable mention in 2003, and the XIX Compasso d’oro ADI 2001.
Works and projects have been published in international books and journals.
The projects of Ipostudio have been brought together in the book Ipostudio, la concretezza della modernità by Marco Mulazzani which was published by Electa in 2008 in the series “Documenti di architettura”.
