Kicsi Haz (pronounced Kitschee Haz) meaning ‘small home’ in Hungarian, is inspired by the Hungarian passion for holiday homes. The company is driven by the inspiration to source, restore and style mid-century seating for the modern home, seamlessly blending yesterday with today. Best friends and founders Jude Long and Lizzie Parker have a passion for furniture. Both quirky and classic designs are sourced from far and wide with a particular fondness for the shapes and styles found in Eastern Europe. The chairs, which date from the 1950s onwards, are handpicked for restoration and reinvented using contemporary fabrics with innovative detailing by master craftsmen. A bespoke commission service is also popular, as each chair is styled on an individual basis, so customers are offered the opportunity to purchase completely unique one off pieces.
