Manuel Tojal Architects (Manuel Cachão Tojal)

Manuel Cachão Tojal, Lisbon, 1983. Graduated by FAUTL in 2007. Also in 2007 throught a Japanese scholarship from the Faculty of Tokyo Architecture (Tokyo Todaemae) went to Japan where he collaborates on SANAA studio (Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa Architects and Asssociates), being responsible for the international competition of the Novo Polo de Serralves (1ºPrize 2008). In 2008, he joined the studio team Cadaval & Sola-Morales in Barcelona. During the collaboration the team have developed several projects, such as the project Tepoztlan's Lounge, prize winner of the Ibero-American Biennial and finalist at the XII Biennial of Spanish Architecture and Urbanism. Before founding his own studio in Lisbon, still have a trip to São Paulo, where he collaborates in RMAA studio. Of his projects stands out the project "House in Travessa do Patrocinio" in 2012, which won the Architizer Prize and finalist Archdaily for Building of the Year.
