Niimori Jamison is an architectural practice based in operating in Victoria, Australia and Osaka, Japan. The directors, James Jamison and Yudai Niimori, met while studying architecture in Switzerland. They have worked in Australia, Switzerland, Japan and India and together bring a range of experience and skills.
Before becoming registered architects, Yudai and James began their careers in related industries. Yudai started out as a furniture and interior designer in Japan and James worked in carpentry and concrete form-work.
They have trained and studied under award winning architects including Peter Zumthor, Valentin Bearth, Eric Lapierre, tUG Workshop and Miller Maranta. They share a passion for architecture that is detailed, atmospheric and contextual and have experience in residential, commercial, institutional and interior architecture. They are also well-versed in Passive House building design, the premier system for designing and building energy-efficient buildings.
