Shang Interior Architects

Shang Interior Architects was founded in 2023 and is based in Shanghai. We are committed to the innovative practice of interior architecture design, engaging in various sectors including retail, dining, residential, and real estate. At the same time, we focus on and participate in real estate development, hotel investment, and innovative entrepreneurship, striving to achieve an organic integration of design and business across multiple dimensions. Shang Interior Architects is co-led by Gu Xihan and Lu Yingfu, both of whom graduated from the Interior Design program at Pratt Institute in New York and have gained practical experience at renowned design firms both domestically and internationally.

We are not defined by labels. We are inwardly driven, inclusive, and always maintain a strong curiosity for design, exploring and perceiving the world with a powerful internal drive. Our design emphasizes transcending the materiality of space, including the use of light, color, and materials, to create a poetic existence that blends sensory experience with physical essence.

The founding team also brings industrial design expertise and top-tier business MBA backgrounds, which allows our space design solutions to achieve unity and integrity, aligning business models, brand strategies, marketing tactics, lifestyle, material expressions, and spatial details. We organically combine brand needs with spatial expression, aiming to imbue spaces with unique vitality, thereby creating a complete cycle that bridges both commercial and design objectives across time.
