I grew up on Cortes Island in Desolation Sound, British Columbia where I spent my days as a child playing in the forest or out on the ocean. This is where I have learned the most about balance and efficiency. There is no greater designer than mother nature, everything is perfect and performs without excess. I strive through my practice to come as close as possible to this perfection by reflecting upon the natural world for inspiration, whether its the random pattern of a leaf structure or the perfect geometry of a dragon fly's eye, they all have great importance to efficient design. These laws, rules, and patterns can be applied to all aspects of design, whether its an object, a space, a movement or flow, a system, a brand, or a communication.
