Daylight is essential to all living organisms, affecting the production of hormones and hence regulating biological rhythms. Light in its natural setting is not homogenous, and is instead characterized by a constant change of light and shadow.
Natural Sky is a direct rebuke to homogenous, "flat" illumination, aiming instead to create a constantly changing, "active" light system that alludes to the natural sky. Regulated by a control system within the lamp, Natural Sky's light source gently alternates through various lighting sequences to simulate organic light patterns. Double layers of sound absorbing textile filter the light to give it a soft, luminous quality. The textile not only allows the lighting system to be used as acoustic elements, but is also fireproof, smoke-less, and contracts--instead of falling--when burned.
