This is a space design for a PR event to promote NTT Urban Development’s “owns” office brand prior to its opening. The “owns” brand was created in pursuit of “a place where people want to gather” in an age when it has become common for people to independently choose where they work.

The planned site, SHARE GREEN MINAMI AOYAMA, is a facility that makes temporary use of vacant land in an urban planning park area, which is located in a prime central Tokyo location, yet is quiet and surrounded by abundant greenery. Since the event space faces a greenery square, we created a staircase-like seating area so that visitors can enjoy the view. By facing in the same direction, the visitors’ gazes do not cross and a relaxed atmosphere can be created. As the name of the space suggests, “Share Green” will create an atmosphere that makes people want to gather in this place.

Wedge-tied scaffolding for construction work was used as the structural material because it is strong enough to support people and quick to install, and a gradual slope was created by tilting the support pillars. To reduce waste, scaffolding was made from rental materials. The construction of the floorboards and other woodwork was made more efficient by using the same dimensions for all the spans of each component.

Tables were inserted into tenons at the ends of pillars to make them safe and lightweight without fear of tipping over, and they can be moved by the users themselves. Plants, carpets, electrical outlets, and mesh boards for display are placed here and there to create a sense of place.
It was a pleasure to create a place where people of all ages and genders could coexist and gather during the event.
