Harlosh was formed out of a love of the surroundings and the natural beauty of the Isle of Skye. It is here that our croft (Jason & Sarah Bold) meets the sea at both the east & the west. We live on a stunning coastal peninsula, Harlosh, that has become our home and way of life.
The big skies, wild weather and rugged landscape is what first attracted us (Jason & Sarah) to the Isle of Skye. The opportunity arose to buy an amazing croft by the sea in Harlosh. As soon as we saw the croft we knew its potential and as a potential site for Black h. It has stunning views as well as a 200 year-old traditional croft house, which we completely renovated to live in - and so the croft in ‘Harlosh’ became our home, business and livelihood; a place to enjoy being with the children as they grow up.
We both have a love for modern architecture, great design and craftsmanship and wanted to share this within Black h. Designed by local architects, Dualchas, we project managed the build and designed the interiors and landscaping. Being a self-build, we worked with a very small team - a talented joiner, plumber, electrician and us. It was a massive learning curve, lots of head scratching, a true labour of love, but we couldn’t be happier with Black h.
On the Isle of Skye’s rugged and beautiful west coast, Black h is positioned and designed to both withstand the weather and embrace the landscape, so you can immerse yourself in both. Surrounded by open croft, this architectural hideaway for two is a soft minimalistic space that’s private, contemporary and luxurious.
With its spacious minimalism touched by the warmth of oak, Black h offers the greatest luxury of all – the room and privacy to rest, recharge and reconnect with nature.
