Embracing Innovation with Photovoltaic Solar Tiles
At SunStyle, our mission is to transform traditional roofing into energy-generating surfaces that are both efficient and visually stunning. Recently, we had the opportunity to get involved in an exciting project with the New Falkenweg building in Konolfingen. The building’s unique roof geometry presented a challenge that required our innovative approach and cutting-edge photovoltaic solar tiles. We were eager to show how our dragon-scale solar tiles could seamlessly blend with the roof design and deliver outstanding energy performance. Let’s dive into the details of this remarkable project and see how we turned a challenge into a success.

Turning Challenges into Opportunities
The New Falkenweg project presented a unique challenge for SunStyle. The building’s roof geometry was complex, requiring a solution that could seamlessly integrate with its design. Traditional solar panels were unsuitable due to their size and shape, which would have compromised both the aesthetics and efficiency of the roof. SunStyle’s diamond-shaped photovoltaic solar tiles offered a perfect solution, enabling complete coverage of the roof’s unique geometry while maintaining an active solar surface.

The Power of Collaboration in Solar Roof Tile Installation
To address the challenge, SunStyle collaborated with Geissbühler Architekten and Gfeller Holzbau GmbH for the design and installation of the photovoltaic solar tiles. The process involved:

1. Customized Design: SunStyle’s diamond-shaped photovoltaic solar tiles were specifically chosen for their compatibility with the building’s roof geometry. This design ensured maximum coverage and energy capture.

2. Expert Installation: Gfeller Holzbau GmbH, experienced in handling intricate roofing projects, executed the installation. Their expertise ensured that the tiles were fitted perfectly, optimizing both performance and appearance.

3. Integration with Architecture: The collaboration with Geissbühler Architekten ensured that the solar roof not only met the energy needs but also complemented the architectural vision of the New Falkenweg building.

Measuring Success
The implementation of SunStyle’s photovoltaic solar tiles on the New Falkenweg building led to impressive results:

– Capacity: The solar installation boasts a capacity of 50 kWp.
– Annual Yield: It generates approximately 49,245 kWh annually, providing a significant portion of the building’s energy needs.
– Roof Area: The tiles cover an area of approximately 320 m², demonstrating the scalability of SunStyle’s solution for medium to large-sized roofs.

These metrics underscore the efficiency and effectiveness of SunStyle’s photovoltaic solar tiles in real-world applications, showcasing their potential to revolutionize energy generation in residential and commercial buildings.
