Located in the Address Beach Resort on JBR, The Beach Bar & Grill is a stunning venue with al fresco dining options to suit all occasions. At lunch, you can dine in your swimwear, taking advantage of our shaded outdoor seating area, but as the sun sets, switch to your smart casual attire and prepare to sip on lavish drinks on the magnificent terrace with beautiful beach views and a refreshing cool breeze. At night, the menu becomes more upscale, with fragrant grilled meats and locally caught fish amongst the star dishes.

The Restaurant is a statement of sophistication, quality of food and service with a contemporary interior design.  It is located within a standalone building along the hotel pool with its own terrace and proportionately the indoor-outdoor restaurant has a large spread of outdoor seating overlooking the terrace and beach. The restaurant is designed to be a flexible space as it can open up to the pool during dinner and there is a large outdoor lawn that can be used as an Event space behind the restaurant.  AnOpen feature Industrial style bar offers drinks to guests and is located in the corner so as not to hinder the view to the beach, Bluewaters Island and the connecting bridge. The beachfront location of the restaurant and cozy rustic interior gives it a charming and quaint ambience that is sure to resonate with every guest. The client wanted to capitalize on the beach front location and to have a restaurant that would be inviting to hotel guests but also the capture passers by walking along the new pedestrianized walkway that had been created along the front of the hotel. The building was designed with white linear frames with glazed sides so that the space inside was open to the environment and the client wanted a true ‘Inside / Outside ‘ vibe to the interior space and the ambience.  A nod to the history of fishing in the region was to be explored but to be developed in contemporary way.As the restaurant is located by the sea, the interior was to be laid back and welcoming to guests with a palette of light coloured finishes with a white washed overlay.

The main feature was the inclusion of several different sizes and varieties of rattan pendant lights that come from the fishing net concept. This concept was also featured in the wall and ceiling recesses and which are covered in thin woven bamboo strips and held in place with horizontal metal rods, a contemporary nod to fishing in the region.KCA worked closely with the Architectural to ensure that the architectural ribs of the building could be integrated into the interior design style. The restaurant is constructed withseveral white linear frames that are closed on the inside with the feature bamboo detailing and the frames continue outside with spaces to see the sky above.

The building is glazed on two sides with the end opening up fully in the winter with sliding folding doors that face the terrace and beach. The main design challenge was to create a laid back, beach style restaurant with the capability of being used in the summer months with working AC and ventilation.  As the building is glazed on two sides, the natural light is very intense and the with one side opening up to the terrace, the AC and MEP had to be carefully integrated into the ceiling and the back wall.  Long slimline units had to be specially developed to fit into the voids of the ceiling to ensure that the circulation and the correct air temperature can be met so that the restaurant can open all months of the year.Optimizing the views to the Arabian Gulf and the Palm Jumeirah was always an important part of the original design and from concept we ensured that the orthogonal structural arrangement would enhance this aspect.

The twin tower orientation is almost perfectly aligned to the east west axis. This orientation uses first principles of sustainable design to passively reduce the solar gain on the towers by over 50% by facing the narrowest edges of the building towards the low angle rising and setting sun.The hotel is a true destination for visitors and provides a lush green environment within an urban context. In line with the Green Dubai strategy the development is highly integrated with the pedestrian connectivity of the Dubai Marina, allowing for multiple pedestrian routes to link through the site and back to the neighboring urban context.
