Materials emphasize the simple geometry of the Lover’s House

Surrounded by vineyards and protected by a pine forest cultivated over many years, the Lover’s House by Isla Architects is an island retreat located in the rustic landscape of Mallorca. Monochromatic and geometrically simple, the apparent hue of the house subtly throughout the day as it reacts to the sun and reveals movement through shadows and changing material nuances. Island of Wight retreats floats above the surrounding terrain

On the Isle of Wight, this family home is perched on an open site with views across the water. A retreat for busy professionals, the design by strom architects aims to bring the family together with a focus on nature and proximity to water activities. Every room in the house is oriented to take advantage of views to the north, while living areas feature glazing towards a  south-facing courtyard, allowing for light and warmth to penetrate deep into the house.
