Snøhetta designs new extension for the world’s oldest ski museum in Oslo

Das weltweit tätige transdisziplinäre Architektur- und Designbüro Snøhetta hat einen neuen Eingang und einen Außenbereich für das norwegische Skimuseet, das älteste Skimuseum der Welt, entworfen. 82,000 unique, hand-crafted tiles clad the new extension to Museum Arnhem by Benthem Crouwel Architects

In addition to restoring the original Museum Arnhem building, complete with characteristic historic dome, Benthem Crouwel Architects have completed this unique new extension wing with an eye-catching facade. Jannes Linder Floating 15 meters above the moraine, the new wing provides visitors the sensation of hovering above the trees, while a wide public staircase connects the wing with the renewed sculpture garden and provides beautiful views towards the Rhein.  Jannes Linder Displaying a combination of natural colours, the building blends with its surroundings. Snøhetta’s new extension and landscape for the Ordrupgaard Museum in Denmark inspired by the Impressionist masterpieces it houses

North of Copenhagen in Charlottenlund, Denmark, the Ordrupgaard Museum houses a comprehensive collection of French and Danish art from the 19th and early 20th-century. The original museum building is a three-winged, neoclassical style mansion dating back to World War I. Laura Stamer In 2005, a modern 1,150m2 black and lava concrete extension designed by Zaha Hadid was added. Largely subterranean and partly excavated from the landscape, Snøhetta’s latest addition of a new extension and landscape offers additional exhibition space while forming a critical link between Hadid’s extension for special exhibitions and the museum’s original building and permanent collection.
