Long before the opening of Museumsquartier Vienna, Glacis Beisl was established on this site. It was rebuilt in 2004. The interior adopts the arrangement and materials of the traditional Viennese Beisl: dark wood, formica table tops, polished terrazzo floor and parquet around the bar.
In front of the restaurant one finds a green terrace under a group of old nut trees, which merges into the interior through a pergola and a wintergarden. The wintergarden is clad in coloured wooden panels, which faces and edges diffuse into teardrop shaped cut-outs - as a symbol of change, modernity and as a sun protection that casts an intriguing play of light and shadow into the interior.
