The concept for the restyling and refurbishment of an existing café in Vienna’s 2nd district is based on the idea of reshaping and smoothing the existing space by coating it with a dark chocolate-coloured paint. The white-oiled and brush-finished furniture stands in contrast to the dark walls. The only touch of colour is found in the two sea breeze blue toilets. A pattern of about 2300 holes of different sizes draws the graphic logo of ‘Katscheli’ – which means ‘swing’ in Russian - onto the wall.
