Refurbishment of an apartment in Picoas. The original squared plan apartment had two major disadvantages: several inner rooms without natural light were at the centre of the apartment; and the social and private areas were put the wrong way, with the rooms closest to the entrance and facing the main and busier street.
By trying to make the most out of natural light, the functions were redistributed and the existing space in the core of the apartment was made in a way to communicate with adjacent divisions, extinguishing the blind zones. Two things were created: a dining-room that communicates with the living-room and a closet that communicates with the room while the remaining space was used for the social health facility.
