Altiplano, which is Spanish for high plain, was oriented and designed to maximize views of the San Gabriel Mountains, Griffth Observatory, and Downtown LA. McShane Murnane, the founder of Project M Plus integrates floor to ceiling sliding glass walls and skylights to give this home a sun-drenched bathed in honey glow.
The residence is a new ground-up build, a 3 story home with 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms influenced by the neighboring MCM architecture. The home has ample outdoor space and a pool and a sizable guest house.
Project M Plus selected white oak flooring from S&S Hardwood to create a warm and earthy feel. For the home’s 4.5 bathrooms, the firm gave each their own concept. “In the master suite we used a travertine stone, and in the kids’ bathrooms, we played with color through the installation of Fireclay tiles and used metal Schluter in a brass tone to give an easy but elevated look,” McShane said.
