The house on the hills was built in the landscape of a charming village near Rzeszów. On a plot of just over 1000 m2, in an area of varied and very extensive development, we designed a single-storey house with a simple form and functional interior, offering open and bright spaces open to the landscape of the Podrzeszów hills.
The architecturally diverse neighbourhood of the plot gave absolute design freedom as to the geometry of the roof. The investors had always thought of a single-storey house with a flat roof, so the traditional form of a house with a gable roof was out of the question.
The investors' guidelines regarding the form of their future house and the functional programme they had defined, as well as the geometric conditions of the plot, the view analysis and the solar conditions translated into obvious design decisions. Particularly important was the orientation of the house towards the landscape and opening up to an attractive panoramic view of the landscape.
As a result, we designed a 220m2 house with a plan based on a rectangle. In the left wing of the building, we planned a two-car garage and an entrance area. The central part of the house is the living zone facing the garden - the rooms of the discreetly hidden kitchen combined with the dining room and the living room, which, although organised in one space, function completely separately.
In the front part of the house, we organised a large dressing room, a bathroom and two spacious rooms, the use of which will be decided by the owners according to their needs. The right wing houses the homeowners' night zone - a large bedroom open to the garden, a dressing room and a spacious bathroom. The interiors in the building are very well lit with natural light, as across the width of the kitchen, dining room and living room, the building opens up with total glazing to a large outdoor terrace and a panoramic view of the landscape.
For a greater sense of space throughout the living area, the ceiling height has been raised. The house was designed in harmony with nature, enclosed in an economical form, using energy-efficient technologies, for users who value comfort, style and harmony with the environment. With its modern design and functional solutions, it will be an inspiring place to live for its inhabitants.
