Jinhua City, formerly a key hub for automotive parts in China with robust manufacturers of complete vehicles and components, possesses a solid foundation for the development of the automotive industry. In recent years, guided by national and provincial policies, Jinhua has actively fostered the new energy vehicle industry, earning recognition as one of the pioneering cities nationally for the promotion of new energy vehicles. The 'Zhejiang Central New Energy Vehicle City Square' project, propelled by both policy support and market demand, is poised to become a crucial platform for the industrial growth of Jinhua City.

Our design concept seamlessly integrates two core elements closely associated with automotive culture. The first inspiration is derived from mathematical functions describing electric impulses, while the second is linked to the aerodynamic coefficient Cx. However, our design objective surpasses the mere presentation of these concepts in a stylish form; instead, we deeply embed the theme of 'innovation' at the project's core. It focuses not only on presenting these concepts but also on an innovative attempt to seek a representative solution, distancing itself from the conventional and mundane forms often seen in commercial projects.

In the field of automotive design, extensive research has been conducted on shape and aerodynamics to reduce energy consumption, enhance comfort, and improve performance. So the question we asked ourselves was: how can an architectural work tell the story of innovation and represent the interaction with moving objects?

Through wind tunnel simulation experiments, mathematical and physical models enable us to delve into the study and understanding of the interaction of moving objects in their surrounding space. Therefore, the objective of design research is to present phenomena that are difficult to perceive in our daily lives through the form of architecture and space. This includes examining the flow patterns generated by the friction between air and vehicles, understanding the related physical forces, and exploring the mathematical models governing this phenomenon. Through in-depth investigations into these aspects, the digital language of architecture creates a harmonious and natural sensation through its forms, immersing users in a novel and exhilarating spatial experience.

The project is located in China, a key contributor to the electric vehicle innovation sector. Therefore, the entire project's design foundation is centered on showcasing and paying homage to the innovative technologies nurtured by the electric vehicle industry.

The main hourglass shape of the building is formed through a stylistic analysis of magnetic field lines. These structures are designed to create architectural forms that can fully utilize the Solar Chimney effect. This shape naturally adapts to the utilization of convective movements.

In the process of ecological sustainability design, there are other key factors to consider: for example, the overall water circulation and purification system, the utilization of solar energy and shading on large roofs, and the thermal insulation and natural cooling of green areas. Despite occupying significant space, this project is closely connected to the urban grid. It is a building that integrates with the city in terms of functionality and energy, avoiding the creation of independent and energy-consuming structures.

When a new car model is unveiled, it's not only its aesthetic lines and materials that attract potential customers but also crucial aspects like technology and driving experience. In response to this commercial demand, the project introduces a space dedicated to the automotive experience: leveraging the natural hill terrain and development plan, a clear pathway traverses the entire project, from north to south, from mountainous regions to water areas, infusing the project with the energy akin to urban landscapes.

This pathway is not only a route connecting and showcasing all the functionalities within the intricate design plan but also a space specifically designed for automotive culture. It can serve as a dedicated 'runway' for presenting new car models, coordinate with smart technology to become a platform for showcasing driving data, and also function as an exhibition space spanning the entire site, suitable for filming locations or commercial events...

The road directly connects all the buildings within the plot, ensuring that each location has an observation platform overlooking the showcase road, becoming a platform for the interaction between people and cars. This is not only a venue for showcasing new technologies but also highlights the question our design team has pondered: 'Where is the most ideal stage for presenting new car models?' The answer naturally emerges on this 'road'.
