00Group design team participated in the international design competition of Longmen Mountain Biodiversity Museum and put forward the proposal of ‘Mountains Slices’. The architectural order is taken from the unique nappe structure of Longmen Mountain. Due to the movement between Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and Sichuan Plain, the sheet like rocks stack together, squeezing together, layer upon layer, finally forming the unique nappe tectonics.
Extract a part from Longmen Mountain, use it to stack the history of this place spatially, then the building takes form. Make a section of this fossil-like museum as the facade of it and shape a window of time. On the site, the inertia of Longmen Mountain passes through the building, penetrates the display space inside, and then flows out to the exhibition hall by the river outside. The interior and exterior scenes are highly unified. The existence of this museum strengthens the original characteristics of Longmen Mountain, which further leads to the flow of mountains and rivers.
The interior space layered by layer, like a section cut through the fossil, squeezing and stacking the time and history. The experience of this building will be like peeling away the past and the future, in a historical cave of Longmen Mountain.
