Perforated façade of infill house enlivens an urban Sydney street
Designed by Atelier DAU, this unique architectural infill on an inner-city site in Sydney, Australia presents an ever-changing façade thanks to custom perforated bronze screens. Called the Chimney House, the changing nature of the exterior is on full display to the street, an urban area which until recently had one of the highest crime rates in the country.

Specification case study: Poisson Blanc by naturehumaine
Naturehumaine designed a minimalistic and refined chalet located in rugged terrain north of Montréal, Canada. The architects shaped the structure in a compact volume to reduce the footprint on the site. The squared floor plan is topped by a gabled roof structure.
The modest budget led to a reduction of circulation areas, compact spaces, grouping of services and simple and affordable materials. The result is a minimalistic monochrome volume that fits well within its natural landscape.

Escola Massana addresses its surrounding context with rotating volumes and ceramic brise-soleil façade
Situated in the heart of Barcelona’s historic Gardunya Square, the Escola Massana is part of a long-running urban transformation process. With over 11,000 square meters of usable surface area, Estudio Carme Pinós was tasked with integrating a large programme and building footprint into a rich existing city fabric.

Interior design for Japanese skincare brand Athletia is a showcase of recycled materials by Nendo
Nendo sets out to encapsulate Athletia’s brand’s values into the interior design; a balance between movement and stillness, inner beauty, and compassion for the environment. Athletia’s flagship store opened earlier this year in Tokyo.

The designers translated compassion for the environment into the use of recycled and biodegradable materials. The flooring is made of flaxseed oil, pine resin, and sawdust.
