VILLA STORICA

Geopietra® blends seamlessly with the ancient stones of a country house, where tradition meets contemporary architecture. In the original nucleus, disposed around a closed courtyard, new spaces and modifications were necessary to incorporate technology and installations without compromising the identity of the building. This intervention successfully enhanced the beauty of the volumes and the rustic wall texture. With Geopietra®, the manufactured stone, the historical ambiance has been preserved and even restored to its former splendor, fulfilling renovation requirements. The large windows of the gym and relaxation area, overlooking the pool, follow the construction method of the existing windows, with lintels and abutments clad in... Más

Flat 2 Prague

The aim was to make functional use of a small apartment on the top floor of a 1930s apartment building in the centre of Prague. Only the perimeter walls and the preserved parquet floor remain of the sunny studio apartment owned by the architect. The original bathroom and all internal partitions, including the skylight, have been demolished. The dysfunctional entrance to the apartment was solved by moving the door opening and changing the opening of the original door. The main idea was to open up the apartment as much as possible and make it one spacious and airy unit. This was achieved mainly by building a glass bathroom along its entire length. Jiri Ernest Jiri Ernest The newly created bathroom forms a separate box in the apartm... Más

Café Výklad

Café Výklad, is located in Banská Bystrica, on the ground floor of a house that has been rebuilt several times in the past. The very last renovation filled the main volume with a plasterboard set piece, which significantly affected the overall space concept. Thus, the main intention was to bring the original proportions back and so the archetypal qualities of the house are highlighted and complemented by new details and elements. Matej Hakár Matej Hakár Matej Hakár As the name of the café itself suggests, the dominant features are the large, glazed openings- the showcases, which give the café a good supply of daylight. Each showcase attracts the pedestrians from the str... Más

YIT Offices

YIT offices are situated in the building of the former Hungarian thread factory. When designing the office premises we took into consideration the preservation of the atmosphere of the original production hall to the maximum extent possible, but also taking into account the acoustic well-being of the employees. Matej Hakár Matej Hakár Matej Hakár Matej Hakár Matej Hakár The space is designed as a semi-open space, it is visually divided into smaller units. Closed offices, framed dividing walls and closed meeting rooms are placed between individual departments, which allowed us to achieve different degrees of intimacy in the space. EXPLANATIONS Buildings live and die differently than humans. Both are born seemingly alike. At the stage of conception, concepts interact with each other, akin to DNA, encompassing various structures-functional typologies, construction techniques, spirits of place and time, all combined with the burden of political and artistic history, the personal preferences of the client, and, of course, the creative will and individual style of the architect. The concept exists solely in the realm of the ideal; its materialization is a series of experiments, conflicts, and compromises with the physical world. The birth of a building is a dialectical synthesis of matter and idea. Artyem Slizunov Throughout the centuries, architects have repeated... Más

VILLA TRIANGLE

The house is situated in a quiet neighbourhood of Brno-Žabovřesky (Tichého Street). The original building used to have two floors, a cellar and a non-residential attic. However, the new owners did not like this layout, so the whole house was modernised and the layout changed considerably. The newly implemented solution is custom-made and includes a number of atypical details and construction principles. The two main recurring themes in the whole project are: the motif of a triangle and bamboo/larch features defining the new parts of the house. While great emphasis was put on non-traditional layout, the house was also designed to meet practical requirements of a modern family of five. Some major changes were made on the ground floor:... The M House Großdorf

The original house on this site was built in the style typical of its Bregenzerwald setting, but was partly destroyed in a fire. Reconstruction of the interwoven log structure was carried out by recycling components from other demolished buildings. Misguided alterations in the 1970s had a detrimental effect of the house’s hard-won character. The clients – a musician and an artist – share an awareness of their role as custodians of a high quality, historic architectural artefact and, by preserving the building in its essence, are eager to counteract the gradual obsolescence of the Bregenzerwald House typology. Si Hall

The consumer services centre “Siberia” is an important landmark of Tyumen historic centre. The potential of the building is enormous. In the past this large-scale building used to provide valuable services for the community and people have been coming here for generations. However, for the past decade the building was not used effectively. Today the resources and efforts that have been invested in this space do not give proper dividends to the city. The space is occupied, the landmark is there, but there is no benefit for people, while the cost is significant. There is a need to reenvision this place due to the shortage of high-quality public spaces in this location and the loss of relevance of the building. A61 architects... Más

HOM HOTEL SANTORINI

On Oia, with a view to Thirasia and the Aegean sea, the hotel is developed on a sloped plot, with independent suites and public spaces (reception, restaurant, pool). Historic quarter redevelopment

Located in a historic site in the city centre, the Grand Hotel Yekaterinburg is a local redevelopment project comprising a hotel, housing, a co-working space, a restaurant, and a museum. A 175-old heritage monument housing a former gold processing laboratory is the heart of the project. Caption The laboratory opened in 1847, with the advent of chemical extraction of gold from ore in the Urals, to examine gold purity. A cluster of buildings constructed in the city centre hosted a laboratory block, the director's living quarters, an outbuilding, and a stone boundary fence. The complex took up a lot of space in the quarter plan, dominating the town. Its long construction (up to the early 20th century) resulted in classicism and eclectici... Más

LERCHOVA HOUSE

The aim of the reconstruction was the reconstruction of a family house into a multi-family house. The basic idea of the design is to obtain the original and new parts in terms of form, operation and material. Jakub Holas Jakub Holas   New volumes "grow" in and out on each floor of the house, including the roofs. The horizontal and vertical constructions of the built-in parts are designed from a wooden building, lined on the outside with larch slats in the oblique direction and in the interior with spruce boards in the vertical direction. Jakub Holas Jakub Holas The various surface finishes thus underline the concepts of the original and new parts.  Jakub Holas Jakub Holas Más
