Mission We aim to motivate designers to pay greater heed to themes of sustainability when developing products in the future as well as harnessing innovative design impulses to encourage manufacturers to make use of new, sustainable materials and approaches. The Green Product Award platform marks the initiation of a comprehensive, ‘green’ knowledge exchange. For the first time a network of designers, manufacturers and research scientists will facilitate the presentation, development and dissemination of tomorrow’s products. Benefits Expert feedback EACH participant will receive a point-based feedback with regards to design, innovation level and sustainability. Winners will additionally receive a certificate with detailed feedback. The fantastic jury will make sure of this.. Award and official seal The best submissions will receive the Green Product Award, as well as the Green Product Seal, in order to display their sustainable commitment in the market place. Communication The participants of the Green Selection will receive communication via the Public Voting. The Green Selection as well as the Award Winners will be published and highlighted on the website and the Green Product Book. As part of our promotional activity, selected submissions will receive extra attention - in the form of publications at design fairs and festivals as well as in the media of our media partners. Interior Park Selected submissions have the opportunity to be included in the renowned online store Interior Park (link is external). Interior Park is the leading operating platform for sustainable design in Europe: on one hand an agency for design, architecture and communication for future-oriented and sustainable concepts, on the other hand, a store with 5,000 hand-picked fancy furniture, home accessories and Eco Design products. Exhibitions and Trade Shows The Green Selection will be involved in the Green Product Award presentation at the Interzum/ Innovation of Interior Cologne and the DMY Design Festival Berlin. Winners of the Award will receive a participation including a space of 40x40cm (On request: For larger exhibits additional costs may accrue). Other presentations at trade fairs and festivals are in working process. Match-Making With an active participation in the green network (a free option for registered participants), we initiate an exchange between designers, experts, producers, VCs, … The match-making could be in form of knowledge-exchange, building project-teams, new distribution-partnerships, consulting, .. - depending on your submitted information during registration. Workshop Six selected participants will receive a workshop on sustainable design and business model design. The date will be announced in due time. Workshop Vouchers 40% of the registration fee will be deducted from the workshop fee! Multiple vouchers of the same participant can be combined and are vaild for 12 month. Schedule Submission We are seeking inspiring green products and services. Regardless of whether they are already an established brand, or exist as a case study or prototype. You can submit your contributions until the 20th March 2015.The submission will take place online to begin with. Pre-Selection Our/an expert jury, which includes representatives of design, science and industry, will analyse and evaluate the submissions. A pre-selection will be made of the submissions by the 30.3.2015– the Green Product Selection. Detailed Anaylsis In the second step, the products will undergo detailed evaluation. The participants of the Award Selection – in case of a product – send their solutions in, in order to convey an integral impression of their work to the jury. (Out of experience, this helps!). Audience Award Parallel to the detailed evaluation, the selected submissions will be published in an online-voting system, in order to determine an audience award winner. Presentation of Winners The announcement of winners will take place in the week of the 29.04.2015. From this day onwards, the publication of the winner will begin – gradually on the platform, accompanied by extensive PR measures. Participation Fees To ensure the realisation of the competition on a professional and high level, a fee is payable for the participation. In order to cater for the possibilities of the participants, we distinguish between professionals and newcomers. Professionals are companies, designers, design studios, brands, manufacturers, research facilities, institutes. Newcomer are designers and changemakers, whose graduation does not date back to more than 2 years, small companies with a maximum of 3 employees, whose foundation does not date back to more than 2 years at the time of submission and students. Fees Professionals Early Bird 250,- Euro (Submission until 30.01. 2015) Regular 300,- Euro (Submission until 27.02. 2015) Late Bird 350,- Euro (Submission until 20.03. 2015) Newcomer Early Bird 100,- Euro (Submission until 30.01. 2015) Regular 125,- Euro (Submission until 27.02. 2015) Late Bird 150,- Euro (Submission until 20.03. 2015) By being chosen for the Green Selection and the wining of the Green Product Award, additional charges arise. These fees include the preparation of the publication, the online voting, the organization of the final event and any additional benefits (see above). All fees are per submission plus value-added tax.
