NEW GENERATIONS FESTIVAL 2014 (2nd edition) Futurology: the future of the profession The New Generations Festival 2014: Futurology, which will be held in Florence (Palazzina Reale, Santa Maria Novella - Piazza Stazione corner with via Valfonda) on 28, 29 and 30 November 2014 organized by New Generations Cultural Association together with the Ordine degli Architetti di Firenze and Fondazione Architetti Firenze, will bring the results of another year of research by Itinerant Office, aimed to analyze the impact of the crisis on the activity of young architects in Europe. The project, born around the video-interview format, has given life to a network based on collaboration and cultural exchange among more than 50 under 36 architecture offices based in Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Turkey, UK and will grow in the next years involving new countries. During the three-days festival, more than 60 guests will discuss and produce research based on the annual theme Futurology, focusing on the future of the architectural profession. The program will be based on three main fields: workshops, lectures, debates and round tables, and experimental presentation formats: shared lectures, menage à trois and Pecha Kucha nights. WORKSHOPS SPEAKING CORNER November 26-28th, 2014 - max 40 participants - 6 CFU professional credits with: Orizzontale (it) early bird registration: 110 € (by October 31st, 2014) - student discount: 15% late bird registration: 150 € (by November 25th, 2014) - student discount: 5% The main objective of the workshop is to build an iconic flexible wood structure to represent the process of public space governance which will be used used for a series of open debates. EXPERIMENTAL COLLABORATIONS November 27-30th, 2014 - max 40 participants - 6 CFU professional credits with: milk train (it), Aparicioeeraerts (be), fala atelier (pt) special guests: Codice Ivan (it), Faithful to the Subject (nl) early bird registration: 90 € (by October 31st, 2014) - student discount: 10% late bird registration: 120 € (by November 25th, 2014) - student discount: 5% Held by 3 groups of architects, a team of video-makers and a company of experimental actors, the workshop foster an exchange of knowledge among different disciplines and their representatives. SURVIVE STYLE 4 November 29-30th, 2014 (11.30 - 18.30) - open participation - 6 CFU professional credits moderators: Indira van’t Klooster (Editor in Chief A10) – Jason Hilgefort (L+CC) guests: multi-disciplinary Survive Style 4-s is an open event divided into 4 panels whose main objective is to analyze the architectural project from a economic sustainability point of view. MENAGE À TROIS November 30th, 2014 (19.00 - 20.30) - open participation tutors: TBA A format conceived by bRijUNi Arquitectos (es): 3 different guests, 3 disciplines, 1 topic. The first to invite must be an architect inviting a not-architect and so on. OPEN CALL “Join the New Generations Platform” 2nd edition In order to expand the network, New Generations launches the 2nd edition of the contest “Join the New Generations Platform”, open to all master’s students, new graduates, architects, designers and artists under 40. By sending a video-interview of 5 minutes, each participant will be admitted to the platform and the winner will be invited to join the Festival in Florence (Early Registration: 10€ until October 31st - Late Registration: 20€ until November 14th)
