The Fleur home is a 4000 square-feet villa for a family of 3, revamped entirely from its original bones. Located in a quiet gated community in Hyderabad, this corner home is nestled around greenery.
This home is quintessentially minimal yet warm and inviting infused with Indian aesthetics.
The aim was to create an airy, serene and well-lit space with lush tropical landscaping peeking through the windows. In order to achieve this, the flooring was removed and replaced with white Indian marble with hints of green in it, walls were broken down and the window openings were made bigger to let the sunshine in.
The design has been kept minimal and clutter free, white is the predominant colour complimented with wood for some warmth. Cane, neutrals and earthy fabrics and finishes flow through all the spaces with pops of colour in the soft furnishings and art.
As you enter The Fleur Home you will be greeted with sublime details that shine through in the background. Two traditional Chettinad wooden pillars with a granite base frame and demarcate the formal and dining areas. Black and white hand painted artwork on the dining wall and the entrance living wall is a subtle addition of floral art.
White rafters in the ceiling and white wainscoting on the walls ties the open plan living together.
A pop of mint green was added to the kitchen cabinets to compliment the green tinge of the marble flooring and the glazed backsplash tiles add some texture to the space.
All the existing door frames, doors and windows that were retained, were painted white and complimented with white linen curtains.
A French door was added to the dining area to access the lawn in the ground and additional floor length windows add to the openness. The guest bedroom on the ground floor has wardrobes with white embroidered fabric sandwiched between glass and a beautiful two poster bed
As you walk up to the first floor, you will admire the natural light streaming into the common area. In addition, the first floor has two bedrooms and a sunroom to which a French door was added and a balcony was created on an unused slab projection. The sun room is the coziest space in the villa, with a warm wooden sloped ceiling with a distressed white wooden day bed which is perfect to unwind with a cup of coffee and a book.
The master bedroom has a high wooden sloped ceiling painted white, with a striking yet subtle black and white wallpaper. The white paneled wainscoting binds the room together complementing the white shiplap ceiling.
The daughter’s bedroom is dreamy with a floral hand painted mural on the bed headboard and on the study table wall in soft pastels with gold hand painted birds on the ceiling.
