The project "VIVER A DIVERS[C]IDADE" proposes to create a housing building for rent that recreates the valences of the neighborhood. Living in a neighborhood is living the cultural identity. It is experiencing the unique diversity of each dwelling. This neighborhood is vertical, it develops vertically, on four floors. These characteristics are replicated in the building. All the houses are different from each other, just as all the houses in the neighborhood are different. It intends to create human relationships, allowing it to be crossed in various directions of the city. The interior spaces are intended for public or semi-public experience. We want to create a central courtyard with plenty of vegetation on the various levels, from the basement to the top floor where the installation of vegetation cover with a vegetable garden for the inhabitants is planned. In this search for the identity of the building, we designed a residential building that would be a microcity. A neighborhood.
Sustainable Housing
The problem of sustainability in the building is addressed on different fronts. If constructively the use of a metallic structure is envisaged, on the outer faces, we think of the use of solid bricks (having an enormous thermal inertia, keeping cooler during the day and storing heat to be released during the night). The perforated skin on the façade works as a thermal filter for solar radiation in aluminum plates, an infinitely recyclable material. The roof will be landscaped with thermal and acoustic benefits. The public and private living spaces on the various floors will have vegetation, allowing for cooling and optimizing the building's air quality. The use of materials from the region, thus reducing the ecological footprint and promoting the regional economy. The lighting will be 100% led due to the low energy consumption expected to be reduced by 80% compared to traditional lighting. Coverage lighting will be with solar LED lanterns. On the roof, photovoltaic panels will be placed to produce energy and solar panels for heating consumption water and heating through underfloor heating.
The creation of a reservoir on the -1 floor to collect rainwater from the roof for use by the irrigation system, toilets and washing machines in a circuit parallel to the water from the public distribution network. There is a garbage compartment with waste separation for selective collection by the council.
Foresee in a specialized project, the creation of sockets for charging electric cars either in the garage or in the surroundings of the building/sidewalks. At the same time create indoor and outdoor parking for bicycles and motorbikes.
Affordable Housing
In a building projected over a large interior void, the concerns were related to the adaptability of the common spaces. The outdoor circulation areas are wide and without architectural barriers. These have rough pavement for easy perception and driving in the various possible directions. The interior spaces work in open space, facilitating your mobility.
Flexible Housing
As individuals we are all different, as such we propose essentially different solutions, which allows us to satisfy the needs of everyone. The creation of spaces with lots of light and operating in open space to enjoy the various moments of occupation in the house. All apartments are different from each other. They are flexible to human experience. The flexibility of the typologies, more than allowing "playing" with the space, allows "occupying" the space with quality in terms of quality. That it is possible to choose the apartment tailored to each one. Diversity is part of human life.
Smart Housing
It is intended to control or have control of the building and its parts in a compartment at floor level -1 where the monitoring actions will be centralized. Controlling energy costs, air quality, heating and cooling through home automation systems will be a simple task, such as controlling fires, smoke, irrigation, etc.
There will be movement control cells to activate and deactivate the lighting and water. The smart home is designed to allow comfort and energy gains, in a perspective of optimization and total control of the building.
