Gigi

Gigi is playful. Its lines are daring and its tones sensual. Under the breath of the glassblower, the unique shades and tones of the color spread throughout the material. It allows itself to be discovered, to be revealed in alternating opacity and transparency. Gigi was the result of a professional love affair between Studio d'Armes and Verre d'Onge. This joint project is the alliance of two domains: the mastery of glass and of light. Its very existence emerges from a creative process focused on pleasure and an exploration of its physical nature, of the sensory experience of its presence in space, both in its table and floor version.Gigi offers quality two-way lighting that fades to warmer shades to create a muted ambience in which it infu... Lucent

Lucent is the first major permanent artwork in the U.S. by Wolfgang Buttress. It was created as the new centre piece for the lobby of the iconic John Hancock Center, Chicago. Lucent is a 4 metre diametre hemisphere perforated with 3,115 holes representing the stars visible with the naked eye from Earth’s Northern hemisphere. Fiber optic cables emerge from each point, emitting a pulsating, glowing ambient light. Affixed to these points are small hand-blown glass orbs that diffuse the light. These points are triangulated, creating a delicate stainless steel filigree. The Southern hemisphere is suggested in the ceiling reflection and a sens... En savoir plus

Belle soirée tavolo

Michele De Lucchi with Alberto Nason, Produzione Privata, 2011 Ph. Michele De Lucchi After Bonne Nuit and Spettra, here comes the third borosilicate glass lamp. Steadily more rarefied, fewer and fewer materials, closer and closer to nothingness. Born for the LEDs epoch, it matches traditional sources too. The LEDs are direct, straight, perforating and impertinent rays that give space no luminescence. Reflected on a silvered cap, they soften, diffuse and expand.
