Established in 2002, lagranja is a multidisciplinary design studio created by Gabriele Schiavon and Gerard Sanmartí focusing its talent in the creation of interiors, products and small architecture. After a decade, the team at lagranja remains passionate and coherent about their core ideology: making design an aide to companies and brand names. After a few years located in La Granja street (hence the name of studio) by early 2011 they moved to a new space in a modernist biscuit factory in Barcelona. Later, in 2013 the office in Istanbul was opened, followed by the Singapore one in 2018. Lagranja's work has gained international recognition and national acclaim winning prestigious prizes like the Red Dot Award (2007), PremiCiutat de Barcelona de Disseny (2008), Premio Via (2009), IIDA Excellence Award from the Internationa Interior Design Association-USA (2009), IDEA Award (2008) and Silver Delta Award (2012). In addition to their professional activity and as active participants of the design community, the team at lagranja participates as jury in competitions, and give lectures in Spain and abroad (Usa, Italy, Japan, Brazil, Mexico, Russian Federation...). In the past years Gerard and Gabriele they’ve been teaching at distinguished design schools such as: IstitutoUniversitario di Architettura di Venezia, FABRICA (Benetton´s creative research centre), ELISAVA, EINA, and IED in Barcelona. Among Lagranja latest projects, we can hightlight the Petrol Ofisi Headquarters in Istanbul, ME Sitges Terramar Hotel in Sitges, Pur Restaurant in Barcelona, Gravity Offices in Hong Kong, JTI Heardquarters in Istanbul, Planeta Campus in Barcelona, FOC Sentosa in Singapore, Madera Service Apartments in Hong Kong, The Populist Brewery in Istanbul, the Cooking Tableware designed for Toshiba in Japan, the Forc Coat Stand for Mobles 114, and Nandu crockery in Spain, a design for Sargadelos.
