24 set 2021 Specifiche

From the spectacular to the minimal, pendants can anchor a space and often feature in dining areas, kitchens and living rooms. Every day architects share their material and interior selections on Archello and through their knowledge sharing our database of specifications is growing rapidly. In this week’s theme article we take a look at trending pendants. Those designs that are most often specified by architects and designers in the past year.

1. Arrangements by Flos

Five geometric elements, the round, the drop, the square, the line and the broken line, can be combined in different configurations. Designer Michael Anastassiades made the body of Arrangements out of extruded powder-coated aluminium.  Each element connects with an electrical and mechanical connection system.

2. Tempo by Vibia

Design collective Lievore + Altherr Désile Park reduced archetypes to their most essential expression for the Tempo pendant. The design is expressed in a system of three designs in two sizes: the disc, the diamond and the milk glass oval.

3. Compendium Suspension by Luceplan

The sleek anodized aluminium Compendium lamp, designed by Daniel Rybakken, directs light downward alongside the reflector. Reflectors can be rotated to adjust the direction of light while tee joints allow for multiple compositions.

4. North by Vibia

Arik Levy composed the North pendant of a traditional shade hanging from a slim carbon fibre rod. The LED light provides a uniform illumination, but can be concentrated when required. North uses LED light as a source of illumination, providing a uniform light with a local yet flexible character that can be concentrated where required.

5. Noctambule by Flos

Longtime Flos collaborator Konstantin Grcic designed a sculptural pendant from cylindrical glass modules in combination with a possible cone-shaped head. Modules can be assembled with up to six elements. Strip LED's in the base of the module provide a diffuse and warm light.

6. Bola Disc by Pablo Designs

Here, a chromated disc gives the illusion of weightlessness by mirroring its surroundings. The disc reflector comes in four sizes and is finished in polished stainless steel or aluminium in different colours. An opaline glass globe diffuser can provide up to 1550 lumens of warm ambient light.

7. Tour by Linea Light Group

Shaped as a primary circle, the slim aluminium Tour profile provides a sleek silhouette. The pendant emits direct, indirect and internal light. Tour comes in four different diameter sizes with parallel or stayed cables.

10. Alysoid by Axolight

The Alysoid is defined by draped chains. Chains come in a glossy black nickel or in natural brass. A spider-like structure is handcrafted in aluminium with an anthracite grey finish. The collection consists of a small version, a medium version, and two large versions.
