CLADDING - ROOF ON WALL
Ceramic roof tile or cladding tile as facade material is a practical, maintenance-free and attractive alternative to restoration and new construction.
The ceramic material has a relatively high density with good heat storage properties. This acts as an excellent buffer towards temperature fluctuations. This provides better heating economy and comfortable indoor climate, while the homeowner also gets a solid, durable and maintenance-free weather skin of ceramic quality. A properly executed facade with ceramic material reduces heat loss in the winter and cools in the summer. In addition, a thick layer of insulation can be placed between the facade material and the supporting wall. With this, the most stringent requirements for U-value are satisfied. Such solution has good acoustic values, as well.
The installation is equivalent to putting roof tiles on a vertical facade. The fixing points in the support wall are defined and the wall is covered with breathable wind and waterproof membrane, before a ventilating frame of vertical counter laths and horizontal laths is mounted. The counter laths allow for vertical ventilation, which prevents moisture problems during condensation and possible penetration of rainwater. The roof tile is mounted on the support laths with suitable stainless-steel screws and hooks for roof tiles. The products have ready fixing holes for quick and trouble-free attachment. Each tile carries only its own weight, and with proper attachment, high facades become no obstacle. Roof tiles used as cladding facades often have technical double interlocking - both vertically and horizontally. These spoilers act as a wind / water barrier and provide optimum sealing in all conditions.
VERSATILE AND HOLBY OF NATURE
Ceramic tiles and cladding tiles come in many shapes, sizes, colors and different surface treatments. This provides many opportunities for creativity and distinctive design - especially when material is used on both the ceiling and the wall. It also fits well with other facade materials such as wood, concrete or masonry. The unique properties of ceramics, which arise after the burning of dried clay at approx. 1000 degrees, provides a breathable, durable and maintenance-free facade. Unglazed ceramics will over time develop a worthy patina after influence of the local weather conditions, while engobes and glazed surfaces are less affected aesthetically over time due to the pore free surfaces.
VALUE FOR MONEY
Ceramic tile and cladding tile as facade material provide favorable cost/quality ratio. Price per square meter, finished wall, becomes most favorable when using large formats. The installation goes faster with fewer units per m². Lift or elevators are often used for such assembly work due to their flexibility, rapid propulsion and economy. No mortar is used for mounting - only stainless steel with UPDM rubber ring and defined stainless steel hooks. The products are available in several colors and formats.
