A new permanent circus tent in steel and wood definitively puts Marchin on the map as a circus village. For this unique construction for Latitude 50, the walls and roof are clad with brown impregnated pine from Lemahieu Group.
Fire-retardant impregnated pine
To comply with the required fire regulations, the wood for the roof has been treated with fire retardant by Lemahieu Fire Protection using Burnblock® to achieve the necessary fire reaction class. Thanks to tests conducted by Stabilame, in collaboration with Buildwise, the wooden facades meet the required fire reaction class.
Subsequently, the wood was impregnated with our Wolmanit CX-10, not only extending its lifespan but also providing preventive protection against harmful external factors, such as soft rot, fungi, and larvae of wood-damaging insects.
Green Solutions Awards
This project won the Green Solutions Awards 2023 in the Building category: Health and comfort. In addition to the environmentally friendly design of the building (decarbonization, materials of biological origin, ecodesign, etc.), the award recognizes the concept of biophilia to optimize the well-being of residents: visible wood brings a sense of peace and warmth; the clever use of special techniques, sometimes high-tech during the shows, sometimes low-tech during rehearsals; and inclusion, as a specific design of the wooden stands allows wheelchairs to be installed, enabling people with limited mobility to enjoy the circus experience at the same level as seated spectators.
