Park Pivot

Park Pivot is a new 1000 Sqm mixed use building located at the heart of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and forms part of the developing residential district of East Wick and Sweetwater. The design solution required a sensitive urban approach given its close proximity to the prominent Copper Box Arena building and the emerging residential blocks of East Wick and Sweetwater phase I. Caption The new building is inspired by the Market Hall typology found in many historical towns across the UK. These relatively small structures sit confidently in their context defining public space and routes around them while providing active frontages and civic presence. Caption In a similar manner the new building aims to create a ‘new place&r... Altro

VIEW

VIEW at the Porte des Lilas by Baumschlager Eberle Architekten, Paris  A shimmering strip in the urban space, softly swinging outwards. Resembling a dragonfly in its ground plan, symmetrical and rising gently. In terms of function, an office complex with 22.000 squaremeters gross floor area . The new building close to the acoustic epicentre of Boulevard Périphérique has a host of functions to fulfil. With its two “wings” and the common, connecting auditorium, the house has the appearance of a solitary structure, its form swinging freely, however, in the context of very rough surroundings. It is, therefore, crucial to upgrade this setting. Good architecture can achieve this. And more: the office areas are arra... Altro

Through this layering of spaces, guests experience unexpected visual connections between the lobby, landscape, restaurant, courtyard - with an open-air cinema in summer - and waterside terrace facing Tolhuiskanaal. With its open char... Altro
