Il sito In qualità di specialisti del design in collina, il team di Whipple Russell a volte ritiene necessario spostare le montagne, o almeno parte di una, per creare una casa moderna spaziosa ma intima. Per raggiungere questi obiettivi per la nostra casa Hutton, abbiamo prima tagliato il fianco della collina posteriore per massimizzare lo spazio abitativo del cortile e posizionare la casa più lontano dalla strada nella parte anteriore. The origin of the design idea behind this home was to create both privacy and openness. The home is nestled into a four+ acre lot that overlooks Pinnacle Peak in Scottsdale, AZ. We created an oasis, with lots of water features. For example, the negative-edge pool doesn’t face outwards; it faces the home so it’s like having a waterfall in your yard. Additional water features are introduced for a cooling effect. Rammed-earth walls – compressed earth mix with cement – create a cool, earthy looking wall. The home has lots of plants, garden areas and open doors. What makes it unique is that it's a glass house with privacy. We sunk the house into the terrain so it’s earth sheltered in a way. Risoluzione: 4 Architecture ha progettato questa moderna cabina prefabbricata per un sito rurale boscoso nella Door County, nel Wisconsin, dove la costruzione modulare ha semplificato la logistica della costruzione in un sito remoto dove la manodopera affidabile non è sempre disponibile. Circondato da alberi che filtrano una luce diffusa sul sito, questo rifugio con due camere da letto e due bagni offre un ambiente tranquillo ai suoi proprietari. Il progetto prevede un collegamento con l'esterno grazie alla realizzazione di più spazi coperti. We named this home Modern on the Prairie. Certainly, Pa Ingalls didn’t design this one. We designed it in a Modern architectural spacial design by using vertical and horizontal planes to create the spaces. No post and beams or headers. Its flat roof helps further expresses the planes. The Teston House has been owned and occupied for decades by a well-known family in the Toronto area. When FrankFranco was engaged, it had reached the stage where it must transform to suit the needs of multiple generations; to become functional enough to accommodate the next era. Caption The common Pompeii villa inspired the home’s open-air internal courtyard, complete with a skylight. Here the head of the household once grew fig trees, and historically the home was used to entertain often. There was still a desire for it to remain hospitable, but the home needed to be updated from the usability standpoint. On a typical afternoon, the wind blows strongly bringing a fine drizzle that keeps everything humid. In the distance, the sun shines through the clouds letting in some rays that slightly warms you. The wind is easily heard as it passes through the surrounding trees and conifers. This is the context of the project that evokes the search for and development of a simple (minimalist) project that does not overshadow its context, but rather takes advantage of it to create welcoming introverted spaces to enjoy its environment within the warm comfort of its internal spaces. At the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, in the community of Altadena, the existing single family residence is located on a large flat lot. The existing house had no connection to the back yard. The owners, a family of four had outgrown the house and approached LOC to help conceive of an addition that would provide the family with two new bedrooms and bathrooms. Constrained by the location of the existing garage, LOC envisioned a courtyard type house, stitching the new to the old through the introduction of a large deck, providing privacy for the master bedroom at the rear of the house, while taking advantage of the vast rear yard. Located on irregularly shaped land, has a unique architectural program, where each space is conceived with the intention of improving the relationship between interior and exterior space, both visually and physically. Caption It’s designed after looking for the best orientation in order to create terraces, allowing sunlight entrance and working as visual points and social areas. From the access different volumes can be observed that arise through the correct use of proportion, from which a large vertical volume of concrete stands out that precedes the horizontality of the project where a compositional axis establishes the spatial organization, accentuating and framing access to housing. In Amsterdam's Nieuw-West district, the site of the former police academy has been redeveloped into a neighborhood with plots for private housing. The future residents had a clear idea of what the house should look like. It had to be a modern house with a bold appearance. Marcel van der Burg The design consists of a main volume with a sloped roof combined with a lower extension with a flat roof. The sloping roof is relatively steep at the front. The steep angle combined with the large dormer reaching over two floors give the design its distinct character.
