For an apartment in Hamburg, we were asked to design the kitchen and bathrooms to align with its elegant interior.Highlighted by a harmonic selection of materials, the DB Kitchen comprises beautiful slate stone units and a kitchen island with a precious Belvedere stone countertop as its centrepiece. All fronts are black Linoleum with a Valchromat core, providing a soft contrast to the severity of the stone. The interior of the kitchen units uses oak veneered surfaces and solid oak drawers to match the tone of the wooden floor. A colourfully camouflaged 1980s home was brought to life with room to breathe and a respectful renovation. Colour was reduced to allow architectural provenance to reveal itself and decorative elements compliment and highlight its geometric forms. A calming environment imbued with primary elements and a monochromatic palette results.A neglected 1980s home featuring dominant use of colour hid the true elegance of the architectural form. Replacing strong colours with a monochromatic palette, the architecture is respectfully given space to shine. Situated on top of a hill in the city of Lausanne (Switzerland), this three stories private villa built in the 1930’s benefits from magnificent views of the terraced vineyards of the UNESCO region Lavaux. The architectural intervention was followed by the reconfiguration of the space in order to create three autonomous apartments – one for the owners and two others intended for rent to students or small families. In the lower level apartment, most of the partition walls were demolished to offer more generous living areas with better light conditions. Therefore, spaces are defined by playing with varying levels. Moreover, this 2-room apartment profits from access to the large garden. On the attic, before the transformation, an unusual layout... Norm Architects have restored and rebuilt a historic villa in Copenhagen after a devastating fire. The story goes that the house used to be inhabited by the renowned Danish architect, designer and cultural critic, Poul Henningsen.   The villa, located in Copenhagen, is said to have been the home of the famous, danish design-icon, Poul Henningsen.
