Not long after the company’s founding as a cork-cutting operation in the 1860s, our earliest leaders were exploring additional lines of business. Leftover cork scrap and cork dust were springboards into the production of cork insulation and linoleum. Since then, we’ve regularly developed new procedures, equipment and products – ranging from no-maintenance floors to BioBased Tile made from rapidly renewable materials. We were a pioneer in marketing as well, sponsoring and producing shows in the early days of television.
