Lillo Giglia Architect

Lillo Giglia is an Italian architect graduated in Palermo. Since 2004 he runs his own professional and associated office designing residential architecture, interiors, sacred buildings, artistic installations and renovating historical buildings receiving important national awards and gathering support from critics and specialized press. Lillo collaborates with the architectural faculty of Palermo through courses about architectural design and museography, He has participated in several competitions, awards, workshops, seminars, exhibitions and organized architectural events. In 2012 he took part in an event linked to the thirteenth edition of the Venice Biennale, Italy Pavilion, and called Young Italian architects / Meeting on contemporary architecture. He is founding member of F.U.N. (Favara Urban Network) and an active member of Farm Cultural Park, a contemporary cultural center which promotes the urban redevelopment of Favara through contemporary art, design and architecture. He is also teacher and tutor at SOU, the School of Architecture for Children of Farm Cultural Park. In March 2016 he won the national design competition for the new Santa Barbara parish complex in Licata (Ag). In November 2016 with the project QUID Vicololuna Lillo got the first prize for RI.U.SO_05 an award promoted by the CNAPPC and the Venice Biennale. QUID Vicololuna was recently selected by Mario Cucinella for Arcipelago Italia and is currently exhibited within the Italian Pavilion of the XVI International Architecture Exhibition (Venice Biennale. He recently won the first Mediterranean Mimar Sinan Prize award in Istanbul.
