Founded by Professor, architect Pekka Salminen in 1968, the office has enjoyed over 50 years of continuous success based on creative talent, hard work and commitment to finding outstanding solutions to complex projects. Our projects include complex public buildings such as airports and transport terminals, theatres and concert halls, large arena projects and mixed-used developments as well as refurbishment projects. Besides architectural design, our activities include interior design, urban planning, structural design and project management.
We have operated in China since 2003 and opened our Shanghai office in 2010. Our diverse and international design team of some 80 professionals represents about 10 different nations. Our practice is based on a deep understanding of the user experience, sound building practices, a comprehensive approach to project management and an innovative, cross-cultural team. Sustainable design, in terms of ecological, economical and architectural quality, is an essential and self-evident part of our design solutions.
