STROS company was founded in 1960 and is located in Sedlčany, 70 km south of the capital city of Prague. In 1999 the company was privatized and employs approximately 200 employees. Having started as a manufacturer of saws, winches, pneumatic gear and tube mail, the company soon focused on the production of rack-and-pinion lifting equipment, specifically construction hoists and mast-climbing work platforms. Its current production range can be divided into five main groups: CONSTRUCTION HOISTS (standard capacities 200-3200 kg) SUSPENDED PLATFORMS (length 2-12 m) MAST CLIMBING WORK PLATFORMS (capacity 1000-3000 kg) SPECIAL PURPOSE INDUSTRIAL ELEVATORS SPECIAL, CUSTOM-BUILT LIFTING EQUIPMENT Besides the production of the company produces continuous glass furnaces and acoustic enclosures. In addition, the company collaborates with other domestic and foreign companies (welding, machining and final surface treatment). The factory is excellently equipped (CNC's, laser, press brakes, welding robot etc.) and among other workstations, it runs its own sand-blasting box and paintshop. The company has its own team of engineers and designers, which allows for a continuous development and modernization of products. The company is supplies special lifts for the transport of persons on structures such as transmitting towers, bridges, underground shafts, cooling towers, oil tanks, sea ports, and a number of various industrial facilities. The manufacturing facility, as well as the products, have certifications and approvals necessary for an active performance on markets worldwide. The company regularly presents itselfs at major international trade shows, specifically BAUMA Munich, CTT Moscow and Conexpo Las Vegas. The majority of current production is exported abroad, mainly to the USA and Canada, to European countries (England, Denmark, Scandinavia, Spain, France, Slovakia, Hungary and Russia), but also in other parts of the world such as Australia. STROS provides complete services for its products, including installation and spare parts deliveries. STROS is renowned for high quality and durability and its products perform reliably in the extreme climatic conditions of the tropics, as well as beyond the arctic circle. STROS is currently the only rack-and-pinion elevator manufacturer whose products are certified for operation at temeratures of up to -40°C (-40°F). At present, the company is ready to offer their services and the use of long-term experience in the field of lifting equipment.
