Over the past 40 years Sturgess Architecture has established a reputation for design excellence and completing projects with efficiency. Our work has won national and international recognition throughout its history, winning such awards as the World Architecture Festival Award for the Glacier Skywalk, the RAIC Governor General’s Medal in Architecture Award for design and construction documentation, and has been celebrated with numerous other honours. The University of Calgary Press published our book “Full Spectrum” in 2010, cataloguing Sturgess Architecture’s body of work.
Sturgess Architecture is well regarded for its collaborative skills for such significant projects as the Glacier Skywalk, the Green Line (Calgary’s LRT expansion), the 7th Avenue LRT Renewal, and the Calgary Water Centre. Our collaborative process is facilitated through design charrettes, public engagements, and workshops. We often use collaborative design exercises with clients, consultants, and construction teams to achieve a well-informed result with our projects.
