Flexform has been collaborating with Milan-based architect and designer Antonio Citterio for more than 50 years. The Perry Sofa, designed by Citterio and introduced by Flexform in 2022, is the latest creation stemming from this creative partnership.
The Perry Sofa is an understated and finely detailed sectional system composed of soft upholstered pieces which can be arranged in various formats thanks to over 30 module options with both orthogonal and irregular shapes. Available modules include stand-alone, L-shaped and asymmetrical seating elements, ottomans and chaise longues, cowhide-clad storage elements and wood coffee tables. With such a range it is therefore possible to configure the elements in traditional linear formats or organic and nonlinear formats for a more casual appearance and dynamic organization of a space.
Among the design details the system features are contours generously padded in goose down and sophisticated tailoring of the grosgrain piping that outlines the silhouettes of upholstered elements. Another unique aspect of the seating system is the option to replace the traditional upholstered armrest with an elegant and functional cowhide-clad container with a storage compartment.
The system is manufactured with a solid wood structure and variable density polyurethane foam padding enveloped in protective laminated fabric and an external layer of sterilized goose down. Magazine-holder armrests are in metal and clad in cowhide in 12 colors ranging from tans to beiges, grays, browns and black suede. The metallic system base is epoxy powder-coated in a glossy anthracite color. And upholstery detailing includes grosgrain piping that can be crafted in several colors.
