Creating informal meeting spaces with a sophisticated design, Arena is not only an architectural focal point, but a venue where people converse and exchange ideas. Designed by Mark Goetz, Arena naturally fits into open areas as a gathering space for informal meetings of small groups.
“The open areas within public spaces are being reevaluated. Conversations that take place between or on the way to scheduled meetings are often times equally if not more productive,” said Arena designer Mark Goetz. “There is an increasing need for comfortable, less formal places for people to interact and share ideas. Arena offers an elegant solution that supports these interactions and provides all the necessary accommodations to this emerging need.”
Aesthetics Arena’s frosted acrylic and veneer privacy panels define meeting space and hidden fasteners create a clean, floating appearance. Arena’s fully cantilevered seat cushions provide a unique visual element and a hidden location for power, data and A/V connections. Its slender legs provide structural support and enhance the architectural and sculptural appearance of the bench.
Available in 10’, 12’ and 16’ outer diameters, Arena benches can be used as individual pieces or ganged together to create curved or circular configurations.
“Arena brings a new level of flexibility to the conference environment,“ said Bob Bockheim, Nucraft’s President and Chief Operating Officer. “Its clean, beautiful design enables it to work in a variety of settings from a casual lobby area to an informal meeting space complete with technology accommodation.”
Arena benches are perfectly complemented with a Media Console and Occasional Table to accommodate a variety of applications, from a lobby waiting area to an informal conference solution. Taking design queues from the benches, the Media Console features slender legs and an acrylic or veneer screen. The Occasional Table is available in round, oval, square or rectangle coffee and end tables.
Technology Accommodation Arena’s rotating PowerPOD provides hidden yet easily accessible power and data connectivity support for collaboration. Cleverly concealed between the seat and back cushions, PowerPOD rotates up to allow easy access to power, data and A/V connections, and rotates down when not in use to maintain Arena’s clean aesthetic. The Arena Media Console provides storage for electronic components and flat-screen monitors.
Arena is the latest collaboration between Nucraft and award-winning designer Mark Goetz. Goetz’s design studio is located in Brooklyn, New York.
