Wooden Textile is a hybrid material made of veneer wood and textile.
It consists of small wooden tiles placed on a flexible base, combining the traditional technique of marquetry with innovative textile design. The material can be transformed from the flat surface to sculptural three-dimenisonal shapes.
The Wooden Textile is created and produced by the design-studio of Elisa Strozyk in Berlin, Germany for different applications in interior design. Besides owning their own collection consisting of wooden sculptural plaids, wooden rugs, unique furniture pieces and lampshades, the studio collaborates with different designers and architects to realize bespoke applications for hotels, boutiques, private residences and other projects.
The material can be applied as wall-coverings, in flat or three-dimensional versions, as curtains, wall-hangings or surfaces for furniture.
It is available in different geometric designs and various colour-patterns. For specific projects the colours and patterns can be customized. There is no limitation in the size of the material.
