Architectural lighting design is concerned with the design of lighting systems, including natural light and electric light. To be able to deliver quality services architects, interior designers and electrical engineers need to take into account the required amount of light, its color and its distribution within the space to be lit (whether indoor or outdoor). The ideal tool for those specialists is the handheld GL SPECTIS 1.0 Touch. This intuitively-operated spectrometer is Android-based and specifically designed for the measurement and characterisation of light sources - especially LEDs - providing accurate spectral information and color coordinates which conform to the CIE standards. The spectrometer has a touch screen display which presents such data as: a full spectral profile i.e. Spectral Power Distribiution, chromaticity charts according to CIE standards, color coordinates, all lighting parameters like CCT, CRI and individual R1 - R14 indices and colour peak values. The device has USB and Wi-fi connections. GL SPECTIS 1.0 Touch is the world's first smart spectrometer, which guarantees precise testing of luminaires performance. It makes work more efficient, faster and helps you to make the right light design decisions. GL Optic devices are appreciated by Philips Lighting, which has provided state-of-the-art lighting system - ArenaVision LED pitch lighting, for Chelsea Football Club. Speaking about the benefits of using the GL SPECTIS 1.0 touch at the arena, technical and design director Mike Simpson, says "LED lighting is best tested with spectroscopic equipment; old-style lux meters and colour temperature devices are not so accurate for LED-based lighting. The GL Optic device allows us to rapidly and accurately assess the quality (brightness, colour, stability) of LED-based lighting installations. The GL SPECTIS 1.0 touch is a very fast spectrometer and easy to use in the field."
