Bela Vista

Blaia e Moura Arquitetos 建築家 として

Located in an old building in the Bela Vista neighborhood, in São Paulo, this apartment (100m²) underwent a complete renovation to meet the wishes of the resident, a single and retired lady, but with a young lifestyle, who likes to receive family and friends, cooking and watching a good movie.

Among the requests, a large and integrated social area and a closet linked to the bathroom. All of them attended to.

Those responsible for the transformation were architects Lucas Blaia and Bruno Moura, from Blaia e Moura Arquitetos, whose biggest challenge was in relation to the building infrastructure, as there was no documentation for consultation. “An example is that when demolishing the walls between the service bathroom, laundry room and guest bathroom, we found a patch of clean water, which unfortunately would be in the middle of the closet/bathroom, but through studies and approvals from the client, we chose to keep the closet/bathroom fully integrated, but with the pipe the same color as the closet (black), in this way, we were able to camouflage the pipe”, reveal the professionals, who also said that the entire hydraulic infrastructure and electrical was changed.

With a mix of styles, the apartment has a homely feel and features contemporary, rustic, classic, industrial and romantic elements. And it is this mix that creates a unique identity for the home. Marbled countertops, black metals and woody furniture were used harmoniously.

The mix of styles, however, was designed based on a neutral palette. “We wanted to bring contrasts through materials with the same tones, but bringing personality, such as the ‘brick’ covering and porcelain tiles in the closet/bath”, explain Lucas and Bruno.

Indirect lighting features adjustable spotlights and ceiling lights. LED strips were also used, both to bring more functionality to the kitchen area, cabinets and office table, and to delimit the living area, with a lower ceiling.
