Panambi House

Salamanca Arquitetos 建築家 として

Panambi House is located in a noble, quiet and wooded area of the city of Toledo, in the interior of state of Paraná. With the intention of dissolving the barriers between public and private, we expanded the access to the house, making the sidewalk an integral part of this set. In order to respect the privacy of the residents, we raised the access by adding floating steps that interact with planters on different levels, leading the user to the entrance hall.

The Facade stands out for the composition of pure volumes evidenced by the use of different materials and textures. The slatted panels in ecological wood camouflage both the garage entrance and the social access. The use of repeating elements is manifested in the upper volume, a set of panels and fixed glass panes create rhythm and harmony.

The project was conceptualized based on the desire of the clients to live in a one-story house. We solved almost the entire program of needs on this floor with the implantation in an “L”, which sought to return the social and intimate area to the center of the land, connecting all spaces to a large patio garden. This design strategy preserved the residents' experience and enhanced the main views of the landscape.

The composition of the form is determined by the addition of the upper volume that rests on the social area of the ground floor and is intended to house the studio and the house's library. In order to provide a double height in the living and dining area, we created a void between these elements and the highlight is the inclined openings, projected on the facade and with southeast orientation, provide indirect natural light that passes through the glass and illuminates the entire space. the social space, making this space the protagonist of the project.

The corridor, the element that connects the intimate social area, is flooded with natural light through a zenith opening that was designed in the middle of the buckets, creating a kind of gallery in which the residents make a playful passage between the different ways of living in the House.

The volumetric composition of the intimate area is given by the regular repetition of the gaps, which helps to create order and symmetry, highlighting the presence of the volume built with a visually striking rhythm. These openings connect with the central patio of the house, generating greater fluidity for those who want to move between the suites and associated environments through the external area.

At the bottom of the land is located a natural preservation area, to allow residents to observe the forest, the openings facing west frame nature. The large sliding door that divides the internal and external social space, when opened, dissolves these limits, creating a large veranda that connects to the pool. On the upper floor, we designed a balcony that works as an extension of the mezzanine, a gazebo for contemplation and relaxation.
